Narang Netralaya Eye Care was established by Dr. Nitish Narang on 16 January 2019 at 66-Feet Road, Jalandhar, with a clear vision — to provide complete, modern and ethical eye care under one roof so that no patient would need to travel to other cities for advanced treatment.
What began as a small but fully functional clinic with an operation theatre within the home premises quickly grew in reputation and patient trust. As the need for more space and advanced diagnostic technology increased, the foundation for a new centre was laid.
Narang Netralaya Eye Hospital, a modern and fully equipped and large hospital, constructed in Jalandhar, was inaugurated in October 2020, in Mota Singh Nagar, 267. It was planned and established in May 2023. This saw the inclusion of special retina and glaucoma diagnostic centers so that the hospital could cover all kinds of eye diseases.
A major milestone came in January 2025, when Dr. Madhushmita Narang joined the institution after completing her three-year Vitreo-Retina fellowship at the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI).

Dr. Nitish Narang began his medical journey with an MBBS from Dayanand Medical College & Hospital (DMCH), followed by postgraduate training under RGUHS, where he developed a strong foundation in ophthalmology.
He subsequently pursued specialized training through a Cornea Fellowship at BW Lions Eye Hospital, Bangalore, complemented by a short-term Phacoemulsification Fellowship at Solanki Eye Hospital, Bangalore, and a SICS Fellowship at Jagdambe Eye Hospital, Ganganagar.
Dr. Narang started his professional practice as a Consultant Eye Surgeon at Mata Amar Kaur Hospital, where he performed over 4,000 cataract surgeries in just two years. In 2017, he joined Vishwakarma Charitable Hospital, Phagwara, as a Consultant Ophthalmologist, a position he continues to serve with dedication. It was here that he refined and mastered the art of topical phacoemulsification(injection less/stitchless/bandageless cataract surgery), a technique he has been performing routinely since 2018!
He is often titled as “Topical Phaco expert committed to safe and comfortable eye surgery.”

Vitreoretinal Surgeon | Fellowship Trained at LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI).
Dr. Narang did her MBBS from RGUHS, Bangalore, and MS (Ophthalmology) from DMC, Ludhiana. She secured 1st Rank in her MS exam in Punjab state.
Dr. Madhushmita Narang is a highly skilled and dedicated vitreoretinal surgeon with advanced fellowship training from the prestigious LV Prasad Eye Institute (LVPEI)—one of the world’s leading centres for retinal care and research.
